Pinto beans are high on proteins and fiber and low on fat. This recipe makes a great dish for a Mexican theme dinner. What’s more, it’s super easy to cook. Just bundle all the ingredients into a crockpot and let them cook.
3 cups pinto beans, rinsed thoroughly
2 tablespoons ketchup
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons garlic powder
1 tablespoon mustard
1 teaspoon paprika
1 pinch ground ginger
1/2 lb. raw sliced bacon, cut into pieces
Place all ingredients in a crockpot. Pour in enough water to cover the beans. Cover and cook on low for about 6 hours. Keep a check on the water level so that the beans don’t dry out.
After 18-20 hours, uncover and stir the beans. Season to taste.
If you would like the juice of the beans thicker, just cook uncovered on high heat for a few minutes.
