This recipe is rich, sinful and buttery. The perfect icing on your cakes.
For 2 cakes
2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
2/3 cup soft butter
2 egg yolks
2 lb. confectioner's sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
½ cup heavy cream
Sift the chocolate and sugar and then place in a bowl over a pan of hot water. After the chocolate and sugar have melted, add in the butter, vanilla extract and egg yolks and whisk together. Add in the cream and mix well till smooth.
If the icing is too thick, try thinning it with a bit of hot water. Just keep in mind that it should be of spreading consistency.
