Description:

The secret to any barbeque recipe is the sauce. This recipe uses a hot and spicy sauce that seeps into the chicken to add that extra zing.

Ingredients:

Serves 6-8

3 lb.chicken, cut into pieces
2 tablespoons oil
¼ cup finely chopped onion
1 minced clove of garlic
¾ cup ketchup
1/3 cup vinegar
1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon dry mustard
¼ teaspoon black pepper
5 oz. hot pepper sauce
½ teaspoon salt

Directions:

Heat the oil in a skillet over a medium heat and add in the onion and garlic. Sauté until tender. Now add in ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, dry mustard, salt, pepper and the hot sauce. Bring to a boil and then simmer for about 10 minutes. Take off fire.

Preheat grill to high. Lightly grease the grill grate. Place the chicken on the grill. Keep brushing the chicken with the sauce. Cook for about 10 minutes on each side or till the juices run clear.

Tips:

A variation: You could try substituting the brown sugar with honey.
